Toilet Clogs

If your toilet clogs, start by remaining calm to address the situation effectively. First, stop flushing immediately to prevent overflow. Grab a plunger and position it over the drain, ensuring a tight seal. Apply gentle, yet firm pressure with a pumping motion to dislodge the blockage.

Sink & Shower Clogs

If your sink or shower clogs, start by assessing the severity of the issue. Remove any visible debris or hair near the drain opening. Next, attempt to clear the clog using a plunger designed for sinks and showers. Apply steady pressure to create suction and dislodge the blockage.

You can also try pouring baking soda and vinegar down the drain, followed by hot water to dissolve the obstruction.  Avoid chemical drain cleaners as they can damage pipes and harm the environment.

If you lose electrical power in your rental home, first check to see if yours is the only property that doesn't have power. Contact your utility provider to flag the issue and to determine when your access with be restored.

If you don't have hot water in your rental, locate the hot water heater and check that the settings on the tank are accurate. If your water heater is gas powered, you should also verify that the pilot light is lit.

If you make any changes to the settings, wait 15 to 20 minutes before testing the water temperature again.

If your heat or air conditioning isn't working properly, use the central thermostat in your property to troubleshoot the issue. Verify that all of the settings are accurate; you can also try to the cycle the system off and back on again to restore the system defaults.
